Animation -
Introduction
My project consists of an animation through which I wanted to convey the idea that we, as humans, should be more grateful for what we have and leverage all available resources to overcome life's challenges.
The animation revolves around a narrative thread in which the characters are lamps from the protagonist's own home. The protagonist of the story is a salt lamp, which gets lost in a forest, its light source attracting other lost lamps that desperately want to obtain its bulb at any cost.
Concept and development
Each frame is a symbol for a period of life. The beginning of the animation consists of a sort of genesis of the protagonist, starting from a salt mine, continuing in a factory, and ending with its transportation. Each of these places symbolizes different stages of life.
The salt mine represents everything we receive and cannot control when we are born (family, place, physical traits, current financial situation, religion, etc.). The factory, on a symbolic level, signifies everything related to personal development (education, self-education, successes, mistakes, decisions, physical and mental development, etc.).
Work technique
In the working process, I had to go through the following stages: Creating the storyboard and script, Photographing the lamps and cutting them out in Adobe Photoshop, Drawing backgrounds and objects in Adobe Photoshop,
Animating elements and creating camera movements in Adobe After Effects, Editing frames in Adobe Premiere Pro, Recording sound using a lavalier microphone, Synchronizing and building the sound ambiance in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Conclusion
I consider my project to be artistic because it encompasses characteristics such as imagination and personal ideas as a creative resource, the use of visual language elements to create an atmosphere and symbolic relationships between characters, the existence of a concept presented in the form of a visual metaphor, and the use of common objects from our daily lives to establish a connection with the audience.
In the realm of animation, where creativity knows no bounds, the project embarked on a whimsical adventure, tracing the path of a hot air balloon as it gracefully encircles the world. Through the unique medium of 2D collage animation, a vibrant tapestry of images and colors was woven together to bring this fantastical journey to life.
The hot air balloon, a symbol of freedom and exploration, becomes the protagonist of this visual odyssey. Crafted from layers of cut-outs, textures, and patterns, it takes flight amidst a kaleidoscope of landscapes, each more enchanting than the last.
In conclusion, the 2D collage animation project of the hot air balloon is a testament to the power of creativity to transcend boundaries and ignite the imagination. Through its vibrant visuals and enchanting storytelling, it invites viewers to join in the adventure and explore the endless possibilities of the world around them.
